A T-Rex in Paris
6 June - 4 November 2018
This summer's flagship palaeontology event, the Museum presents the exhibition A T. Rex in Paris, hosting a spectacular and very rare, almost complete specimen of tyrannosaurus rex, presented for the very first time in France.
Delve into an ancient world, dating back 67 million years, as the Cretaceous period was drawing to an end. Journey back in time to understand the conditions in which this remarkable specimen lived. Discover the regions and environment where the T. rex lived, particularly North America.
Meet the T. rex's favourite prey, the impressive skeleton of the hadrosaur Edmontosaurus annectens, a herbivorous duck-billed dinosaur. It is assembled here for the first time since its discovery in 1910. You can touch a cast of the mummified skin of one of these dinosaurs and feel its scaly roughness, similar to that of the tyrannosaurus!
Follow in the footsteps of the great dinosaur discoverers, in the wake of several palaeontological missions and immerse yourself in the story of the fabulous discovery of Trix.
Come face to face with Trix, this 67-million-year-old female Tyrannosaurus rex presented for the first time in France! Discovered in 2013 in Montana (USA), she is the second most complete specimen in the world. Her original, intact skull makes her particularly remarkable. Discover her anatomy, her diet, and her battles...
Don't hesitate to immortalise your unique encounter thanks to a space dedicated to selfies! #ExpoTRex
Take advantage of the many fun, interactive features to better understand the paleobiology of T. rex. Particularly geared towards children, they encourage you to take an interest in the age of T. rex, their brain, their eggs, their prey, but also to look for fossils, ride a bike to compare your speed with that of the dinosaur, draw and even dance!
Children who have visited the exhibition can also use their admission ticket to play the role of palaeontologist at an archaeological dig site set up for the occasion in the Jardin des Plantes.

A journey into palaeontology
Check out the Austerlitz rail station! Just a few minutes' walk from the Jardin des Plantes, come discover the exhibition Journey into Palaeontology, from the infinitely large to the infinitely small.
SNCF Gares & Connexions has given the station a new look and showcased the discipline to the amazement of its passengers. From the façade facing the Seine River in a life-size X-ray version to the palisades in the Museum courtyard, via the reception halls (central and those on tracks 1 to 7) which present the history of the Gallery and the discipline, microfossils or even missions around the world, as well as a 3D Triceratops... An original exhibition right inside the station to encourage travellers to come visit our galleries and discover the biological diversity and importance of fossils!
