All of the visit circuits and exhibits at the Galerie des Enfants are accessible to wheelchair users and visitors with reduced mobility
Numerous stools (without backs or armrests) and a few benches are provided throughout the exhibition spaces.
Lifts provide access to the upper floors.
The Galerie des Enfants is located on the first floor of the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution.
There is same-level access to the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution via a smooth concrete forecourt.
There are two possible entrances to this forecourt:
- direct access from 36 rue Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire: small step of less than 2 cm
- access via the Jardin des Plantes: same level
The entrance doors are heavy to open, but a security guard is always on hand inside to help you if need be (the doors have glass in them so the guard can see visitors outside).
During very busy periods, priority entrance (indicated by a sign) to the right of the main entrance.
Please note: the ticket booths have not yet been upgraded to meet current regulations.
Individual visitors and families
The permanent presence of a mediator
A mediator trained in disability awareness is permanently present in the Galerie des Enfants. He or she can briefly explain the exhibition and themes addressed, answer any questions you or the children may have, and, if need be, show them how to use specific exhibits.
Free admission for visitors with disabilities on self-guided tours (without a guide) (without a guide), as well as for their carer, upon presentation of appropriate ID (disability or priority card). Any additional carers must purchase a ticket at the applicable price.
Booking in advance recommended via the online ticket office. All vouchers for a free admission ticket (and also for a free carer ticket) obtained on the website must be presented at the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution reception with appropriate ID (disability or priority card), where they will be exchanged for an admission ticket.
Guided tours and workshops are available to groups of people with reduced mobility, subject to booking.
