Grand Amphithéâtre du Muséum (Museum’s Grand Lecture Hall)

Practical information

The Grand Amphithéâtre is accessible to wheelchair users and people with difficulty walking. Same-level access to lecture hall and toilets.

Access to the Grand Amphithéâtre is via the Jardin des Plantes.

  • easiest access via 36 rue Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire (same level throughout; please note, the presence of cobblestones over a small section, carer recommended)
  • please note: the access at 40 rue Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire has the following features: grating with gaps of over 2 cm, relatively gentle incline but in excess of 4 % over a path that is very wide but has a slight camber, one section of old rounded cobblestones – carer recommended.

Once inside the building: places set aside for wheelchair users at the foot of the tiered seating, opposite the speaker: access at the bottom left as you enter the building.
