Post-lockdown visit instructions

Garden of Plants (Jardin des Plantes)

The Garden of Plants has re-opened. These are our tips for planning your visit. In order to ensure that visitors are received in conditions ensuring everyone’s safety and well-being, we have come up with a set of instructions and arrangements, which you will find on this page.

Visit conditions

  • Wearing a mask indoors and outdoors is compulsory for those aged 11 and up​.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of at least 1.5m from other visitors.
  • Avoid gatherings larger than 10 people.
  • Four access points to the Garden are available : place Valhubert, 36 rue G. Saint Hilaire, 18 rue Buffon, 57 rue Cuvier.
  • Sneeze or cough into your elbow.
  • Cancel your visit if you have a fever or show other symptoms of Covid-19.

The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle commits to :

  • Design suitable visit itineraries.
  • Reduce the number of visitors received at a given time.
  • Carry out regular cleaning of the premises.
  • Have mask-wearing customer service agents available to answer any of your questions.

Facilities and services

  • The lawn by the Greenhouses remains closed for now.
  • Opened food services are : Les Belles Plantes restaurant, Louise ice creams, food stalls.
  • Picnics are not allowed.

Ménagerie, the zoo of the Jardin des Plantes

The Ménagerie, the zoo of the Jardin des plantes has re-opened

Ticket purchase

  • Always reserve your ticket, even free tickets, on the ticket e-shop.
  • Print or download your ticket and arrive on time for the reserved slot.

Visit conditions

  • Wearing a mask is compulsory everywhere in the zoo for those aged 11 and up.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of at least 1.5m from other visitors.
  • Avoid gatherings larger than 10 people.
  • Follow the visit itinerary, paying heed to signage.
  • Disinfect your hands regularly using the hand sanitizers available throughout the premises.
  • Sneeze or cough into your elbow.
  • Cancel your visit if you have a fever or show other symptoms of Covid-19.

Galleries and Greenhouses

The Galleries (Gallery of Evolution, Paleontology and Comparative Anatomy Gallery, Mineralogy and Geology Gallery) and Greenhouses have re-opened.

  • The following facilities remain closed for now: The Cabinet of Virtual Reality The Children's Gallery and the the room for endangered or extinct species.
  • Interactive elements are temporarily not in use.
  • Shops is reopening from the 1st July 2020.
  • The luggage lockers and cloakrooms are closed.
  • Gallery of Evolution's Café is reopening from the 1st July 2020.
